About WLSC

Anchor 1

OUR MISSION

West Lawn Soccer Club’s mission is to provide youth soccer in a small club environment that focuses on a personal approach, to maximize individual talent within a team concept. West Lawn aims to promote the highest levels of respect, skills, and understanding of the beautiful game of soccer for inner-city youth, who often do not benefit from quality structured programs. WLSC strives to lower the great risk inner-city youth face such as becoming disengaged, disconnected, and cut off from pursuing their dreams. We hope to create more opportunities for the youth of Southside Chicago to participate in soccer at a minimum cost.

THE CHALLENGE

For decades now, US soccer has operated on an overpriced “PAY TO PLAY” system which limits low-income urban kids access to well structured soccer youth programs. This soccer system restricts access to competitive soccer for kids in low-income inner city households whose parents simply can’t afford a system which thrives for privileged youth in suburban communities and more affluent neighborhoods in the urban centers of America.

OUR
COMMITMENT

Through the West Lawn SC extensive year-round training program, we hope that each member will acquire a passion and confidence to take with them on to the soccer field and into their life. You can expect from our organization access to designated safe spaces to engage with staff who can help them develop to their fullest potential through consistent, organized, and purposeful instruction.
